Welcome back to another episode of Permission to Offend. Today’s episode is all about feeling triggered to compete. There are varying levels of triggers, and not all of them are intense but some of the less intense triggers still make you feel some type of way. The other day I received a newsletter from a friend that talked about making less money as an entrepreneur and how it relates to your success and identity. I always talk about identity, and how you show up in day-to-day life, but more importantly how your identity shows up in business. In reality, we are always trying to find ways to feel validated, and this sometimes shows up materialistically and monetarily, but is this the only way to feel like you matter? In this episode I talk more about making money, success, and why you don’t have to make it to the millionaire’s club.

3 Reasons You Should Listen to Today's Episode:
  • How does your identity show up in your business
  • Does making more money mean you are more successful?
  • What role do desire and money play in life and business

Welcome back to another episode of Permission to Offend. Today, I am talking about an expression and way of behaving that I grew up with, and I am sure many of you grew up with as well.

Coming from a Latinx background, it was very common for my mom to preface every outing with “don’t speak unless spoken to, and remember that children are to be seen not heard.” The first time I broke this rule, I remember the look my mom gave me and the feeling of being terrified and it wasn't until later on I realized what kind of narrative I was growing up with.

Fast forward many years later and it’s taken a lot for me to let go of that belief that speaking up means I was raised poorly. The thing is, when it comes to navigating life, speaking up is pretty important, but how do you go about doing that when you grew up being taught to believe that it was bad? In this episode, I talk about the issue with this phrase, how to heal from that trauma, and why we need to move past cancel culture.

3 Reasons You Should Listen to Today's Episode
-Approach the healing phase with an open heart not an open mind
-Why your childhood shapes you as you grow up
-How to move past limiting beliefs

Welcome back to another episode of Permission to Offend. Today, I am talking about dealing with some professionally devastating news. Back in 2020, I was offered a 6 figure book deal with one of the top 3 global publishers. Prior to this offer I really manifested this dream, I hired a book coach, I worked hard to write my proposal and I took faith-filled intentional action. Unfortunately, a series of hurdles popped up including having to change editors and push back my publication date past 2022. I am not saying all this to vent (though this helps), instead, I want to share with you what all of these setbacks actually mean to me. What  I want to ask you is, are the problems actually problems or is there another perspective you can adopt and pivot from?

3 Reasons You Should Listen to Today's Episode
  • Practicing faith-filled intentional action
  • Realizing your dreams , fearing the worst  and not feeling like you can do it
  • Why the setbacks can make you stronger even if you don’t want to believe it

Today, I am talking about how to have faith when everything is going wrong, and boy do I know a thing or two about that! Because if anyone needed to have faith when everything was going wrong, it was me, when I was dealing with all of the shenanigans leading up to the Confidence Activated conference. 3 Reasons You Should Listen to Today's Episode

  • Why faith in yourself is just as important as religious faith

  • Your decisions determine your destiny

  • Ways to center yourself when you feel life isn’t going according to plan

In this episode, I am responding to a listener request and answering how you can effectively reach out to brands with offers that are thoughtful, selective and impactful!  The reality is that it can be scary to pitch sponsors. Why? Because you're just setting yourself up for rejection. There's no way around it! However, there’s a way to make this experience less scary and I explain how you can approach sponsorships.

The first step? Give yourself permission to accept rejection, because once you get over that first step, the rest - as they say - is history.

3 Reasons You Should Listen to Today's Episode:
  • Anticipate rejection rather than be anxious about it
  • Types of sponsorships you can explore
  • Your role is to ignite excitement about the sponsorship, not make the sponsors money

Lately, it seems that many people have been telling me that they are feeling tired and rundown, and it’s been hard to find the time to do things they want to do. Normally, I am a firm believer that we don't find time, we make the time, but I understand that this isn't possible when you're dealing with mental exhaustion.

In this episode, I’m sharing how our emotions are potentially derailing us from manifesting and having the life of our dreams and achieving our goals and desires. While some of this low energy may be a physical feeling, in reality, a lot of us are suffering from emotional exhaustion. I share my thoughts on regulating your emotional capacity, getting stuck in the distraction phase, and why you need to ask for help and help others within your boundaries.

3 Reasons You Should Listen to Today's Episode
  • Learn the psycho evolutionary theory of emotions and what they’re trying to tell you

  • Why you should give yourself permission to experience a spectrum of emotions - even the negative ones

  • How to create an experience of peace and make that your safe space

Robert Plutchik’s Psycho-evolutionary Theory of Emotion (8 Basic Emotions):

  • Anger
  • Disgust
  • Fear
  • Sadness
  • Anticipation
  • Joy
  • Surprise
  • Trust

It’s not 1983, but I believe we should all be Burning Down the House! Life is full of ups and downs and you have to be ready to Hold Tight and deal with the Nasty Weather. Okay, I'll stop referencing the lyrics now, but you get the message right?

In this episode, I’m sharing why I have this fire inside me and this desire to burn down the house after launching my business nearly 10 years ago. If you have ever felt like tearing everything down and starting from scratch, this episode is for you, because I am in the same boat and I get it.  I share what mistakes I have made and what I’ve learned from them and why growing my social media has sometimes felt demoralizing.

3 Reasons You Should Listen to Today's Episode
  • Lessons I learned and mistakes I made over the last 10 years of running a business
  • Hear my experience growing my own social media following by myself and how it’s made me feel

  • Why I have decided to restart everything from scratch
